Dr. Tokiko Poppe of Cosmos Dentistry in Bellevue, Washington, considers herself extremely fortunate to work in dentistry because she gets to witness and participate in the lives of her patients. She believes early intervention and knowledge can prevent many problems later in life. The human body is one unit, and everything in people’s mouths is linked to their overall health.
Dr. Poppe graduated from the University of the Pacific’s Arthur Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. She also holds a Japanese dental license, speaking Japanese and English in her multi-lingual dental care practice. She is eager to expand her knowledge by enrolling in numerous continuing education courses and actively participating in several local and national study groups.
She was involved in craniofacial research in school, where she studied cleft lip and palate extensively. Dr. Poppe also completed a General Practice Residency in California, where she cared for medically compromised adults at Veterans Hospital and children under general anesthesia at the University Medical Center. She enjoys being involved in the community to share her knowledge with society. She is a member of the ADA, AAGO, AAPMD, WSDA, SKCD, AGD, American Laser Study, TBI Ambassadors, and AMR advanced program.
Dr. Poppe gains energy from her interactions with the Cosmos Dentistry team and her patients. She spends her free time with her family and friends, reading, being outside in nature, and practicing Yoga and Pilates. They have a Balinese cat named Gumi and a Goldendoodle named Winnie, both of which bring her great joy and happiness.
