Address areas of decay with quality dental fillings
Tooth decay is a serious concern. It can impact the health of a tooth and also cause pain. If you have a tooth that is affected by decay, getting it treated as soon as possible is important. At Cosmos Dentistry of Bellevue, Washington, Dr. Tokiko Poppe and her team can diagnose areas of decay and talk to patients about their options for dental fillings.
Cavity filling solutions available
There are many options available for treating tooth decay, but one of the most effective is dental fillings. Dental fillings can help restore a tooth’s health and protect it from further decay.
At Cosmos Dentistry, we offer a wide range of cavity filling options. We can help you choose the right type of filling for your needs and ensure that the filling is placed correctly. We use only the highest quality materials for our fillings, so you can be confident that your tooth will be well-protected. Most of our patients love our tooth-colored fillings, which are made of composite resin. These fillings blend in with the smile to ensure discreet treatment, unlike other materials such as silver amalgam, which are dark gray and easy to spot.
What to expect from your dental filling appointment
When you come in for a dental filling, we will first numb the area around the tooth to ensure your comfort. Once the numbing product has taken effect, we then remove the decay from the tooth. Next, we place the filling material directly into the cavity and shape it to fit snugly. We will then harden, or cure, the filling material with a special light. As the last step, we polish the tooth to give it a natural appearance.
