As an adult, we understand you may feel awkward wearing traditional metal braces to straighten your teeth. That’s why we offer clear aligner therapy. You’ll wear clear aligner trays instead of metal hardware to straighten your grin. Dr. Poppe will have a series of aligners custom-made to fit snugly over your teeth. When worn, these aligners work like traditional braces to slowly and safely shift your pearly whites into a straighter position.
Unlike traditional braces, clear aligners are removable. You can take them out temporarily to eat and brush or floss your teeth. Afterward, return them to your teeth to avoid delays in completing your treatment. Wearing your aligners 20 to 22 hours daily will keep your teeth steadily moving toward your goal of a perfectly aligned smile. Dr. Poppe will map out your treatment from start to finish, indicating when to switch to your series’ next set of aligners. We’ll also give you a tentative time frame for completing your procedure.
If orthodontics is in your future, you’ll love clear aligner therapy! Here are some of the key benefits of this treatment:
One of the greatest advantages of using clear aligners is their invisibility. The clear plastic aligners blend seamlessly with your teeth, making them practically undetectable. You’ll be able to smile, talk, and laugh easily throughout your procedure, and you won’t feel awkward about your appearance.
Metal braces come with all kinds of food restrictions. Not so with clear aligner therapy. By removing the aligners for eating, you can continue to enjoy your favorite foods.
No one wants to deal with cavities when undergoing orthodontic treatment. Removable aligners make it easy to keep your mouth clean throughout your procedure. You can brush and floss normally and even keep up with routine dental cleanings at our clinic.
Clear aligners can correct alignment, bite, spacing, and overcrowding issues with your teeth. You’ll see positive changes in your smile within a few months of starting your treatment. If your orthodontic issues are severe, Dr. Poppe may advise using traditional braces to get optimal results from this treatment.
